On June 20 the Chenango Canal Association offers visitors an ongoing tour of the newly renovated Cottage Museum and history walk along the Towpath Trail.<\/p>\n<p>Many businesses, organizations and individuals contributed support toward the three-year long\u00a0History on the Summit\u00a0project that consisted of a complete renovation of the 100 year-old building that is the Canal Cottage Museum; additional unique, vintage photos of local history displayed inside, and\u00a0\u201cHistory Happened Here\u201d\u00a0signs posted along the Towpath Trail, where a short audio history is accessed by scanning the QR code with a smart phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our chance to promote the 180 year-old Chenango Canal, educate people on local history from the 19th\u00a0century and encourage visitors to see what our surrounding community has achieved, says Diane Van Slyke, President of the Chenango Canal Association. \u201cIt is also an opportunity to thank our supporters for helping to contribute to the Chenango Canal\u00a0History on the Summit\u00a0project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Besides tours of the trail and museum, refreshments will be served.
