Meet at the Woodman Road canal crossing at\u00a06 p.m. or car pool from Rogers Center\u2019s visitor parking lot at\u00a05:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>To reach the Woodman Road canal crossing, go 2.7 miles north on Route 12B from the 5 way intersection in Hamilton, or 1.5 miles north from Price Chopper and turn left on Woodman Road (hopefully the construction on Woodman Road will be complete and the Woodman Road sign will be back up). Go .6 miles on Woodman Road to where the canal crosses. There is room for about 8 cars.<\/p>\n<p>Birds are busy with courting and nesting, feeding babies and defending territory. They vocalize frequently, making them easier to spot. Former Rogers Program Director and Chenango Bird Club member, Fred von Mechow, will lead the walk. A long time birder, Fred will point out birds\u2019 visual field marks and songs. Join us even if you don\u2019t have binoculars; we have a few extra to share.<\/p>\n<p>All are welcome and program attendees are welcome to stay for refreshments after the walk.<\/p>\n<p>Save the date for the last Chenango Bird Club walk of the evening series: August 12.<\/p>\n<p>The Chenango Bird Club presents monthly programs (except January, February, and March). Nature enthusiasts of all levels and interests are invited to all Chenango Bird Club programs, free of charge, at the Rogers Environmental Education Center Bird Exhibit Cabin, next to the visitor parking lot.
