{"id":63038,"date":"2015-07-23T20:33:44","date_gmt":"2015-07-24T00:33:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=63038"},"modified":"2015-07-23T17:36:50","modified_gmt":"2015-07-23T21:36:50","slug":"madison-county-grew-a-great-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=63038","title":{"rendered":"Madison County Grew a Great Fair!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Guest-Column-Logo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-61818\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Guest-Column-Logo.png\" alt=\"Guest-Column-Logo\" width=\"406\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Guest-Column-Logo.png 406w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Guest-Column-Logo-300x148.png 300w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Guest-Column-Logo-150x74.png 150w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Guest-Column-Logo-400x197.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 406px) 100vw, 406px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>By Annette Tanney<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(Brookfield, NY &#8211; July 22, 2015) The 176<sup>th<\/sup> Madison County Fair demonstrated it has indeed got a Good Thing Growing. \u00a0Even intermittent rain showers did not dampen the spirit of enthusiastic concert goer\u2019s opening night when the awarding winning country duo Montgomery Gentry took the stage.\u00a0 Some enjoyed the show under the cover of the grandstand; others donned their rain gear to be closer to the stage, while some danced in the rain on the mud track.<\/p>\n<p>Horses, sheep, goats, and rabbits came to compete for blue ribbons.\u00a0 The dairy and beef cattle shows featured 22 youth exhibitors, all 7 breeds of cattle were represented with over 70 head of cattle in attendance.\u00a0 The karaoke contest sent 7 contestants to the Grand Finale to compete for a chance to audition for NBC\u2019s \u201cThe Voice.&#8221; \u00a0Demonstrations and hands on projects were hosted by 4-H throughout the fair\u2019s 4 day run.\u00a0 The stage showcased the Talent Show and the Miss &amp; Mister Madison County Pageant.\u00a0 BMX stunt cyclist flew through the air and visitors to the petting zoo had the opportunity to ride a camel.<\/p>\n<p>The Youth Tent hosted over 200 people throughout the six hours the tent was operational on Saturday. A total of 122 youth each received a goody bag full of activity books and games generously donated by the American Red Cross.
