To the Editor:<\/p>\n

(Sept. 2015) A few weeks ago, seven attorneys wanted to be our Madison County Judge \u2013 now only four.\u00a0\u00a0Good attorneys present their clients in the best possible way to get the clients what the clients want.\u00a0\u00a0If truth and facts are inconvenient, they are merely obstacles to be overcome.\u00a0\u00a0Presentation skills reign supreme.<\/p>\n

Good judges listen to both sides with an open mind, weigh the facts, and look for the truth \u2013 before making their decision.\u00a0\u00a0Good listening skills reign supreme.\u00a0\u00a0Life experiences can help.<\/p>\n

Judge Patrick O\u2019Sullivan is the ONLY CANDIDATE WITH EXPERIENCE AS A JUDGE!\u00a0\u00a0He knows firsthand the difference between a good attorney and a good judge.\u00a0\u00a0He is both.<\/p>\n

Judge Patrick\u2019s life experiences also make him better qualified than any of the other candidates.\u00a0\u00a0He has practiced law in Federal, State, and local courts.\u00a0\u00a0He has represented defendants and plaintiffs.\u00a0\u00a0His cases range from family matters to criminal matters.\u00a0\u00a0He has lived in big cities, Madison County, and in other States.\u00a0\u00a0He is also a teacher \u2013 originally science; now law.\u00a0\u00a0He has the relaxed, thoughtful demeanor of a good judge.<\/p>\n

Some of his opponents claim they will make the best family court judge \u2013 ignoring the inconvenient truth that Madison County Judges preside over three courts.\u00a0\u00a0Only one hears family matters.\u00a0\u00a0The other two hear inheritance and CRIMINAL cases.\u00a0\u00a0Our judges must be able to handle all three!\u00a0\u00a0A good judge has the qualities that enable them to do any of the three equally well.<\/p>\n

It is very important for all of us that we elect the best possible candidate for Madison County Judge.\u00a0\u00a0Judge Patrick O\u2019Sullivan is that candidate and deserves our vote.<\/p>\n
