\"Caz<\/a>(Cazenovia, NY \u2013 Oct. 2015) All are invited to join author Monica Meira Vaughan when she returns to the Cazenovia Public Library on\u00a0Wednesday, Oct. 28\u00a0at\u00a07 p.m. During her presentation\u00a0\u201cBeing a Writer,\u201d\u00a0she will share her experiences as a writer and offer some advice to possible future writers.<\/p>\n

After the age of 15, Vaughan spent every summer in Cazenovia with her father and stepmother Frederico and Kathy Meira.\u00a0 Here she spent time at the lake and bought books at the Friends of the Library Book Sale.\u00a0 Where she writes is part of her writing process, and her time in Cazenovia was one of those places.<\/p>\n

From her 2013 presentation at the Cazenovia Public Library, readers will remember Vaughan\u00a0and her first book\u00a0The Ability, in which she\u00a0delves into the extraordinary abilities of the twelve-year-old mind.\u00a0 One such twelve-year-old is Christopher Lane, who has been discounted by his teachers as a liar and thief, and whose mom doesn\u2019t have the energy to deal with him.<\/p>\n

Publishers Weekly\u00a0described her second book\u00a0Mindscape\u00a0as\u00a0a \u201cfast-paced, superhero-tinged spy novel.\u201d\u00a0 In this mind-bending sequel to\u00a0The Ability,\u00a0telekinetic preteens use their powers for good\u2014and evil.\u00a0 Here Christopher Lane is haunted by the face of the boy he killed.
