{"id":64251,"date":"2015-10-25T08:00:32","date_gmt":"2015-10-25T12:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=64251"},"modified":"2015-10-24T09:58:42","modified_gmt":"2015-10-24T13:58:42","slug":"enthusiastically-supporting-rapasadi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=64251","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Enthusiastically\u2019 Supporting Rapasadi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/letters-to-the-editor.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-58690\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/letters-to-the-editor.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"letters to the editor\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/letters-to-the-editor.jpg?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/letters-to-the-editor.jpg?resize=150%2C112&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>To the Editor:<\/p>\n<p>(Madison County, NY \u2013 Oct. 2015) I\u2019m an old white guy.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been a registered Republican since I quit peace marching in Washington and started my business.\u00a0 I should be supporting the Republican candidate for Madison County Judge.\u00a0 His supporters include lawyers that have represented me in obtaining a DBA, a divorce, and an adoption.\u00a0 Another was a customer, and another a golf acquaintance at Seven Oaks.\u00a0 But I\u2019m supporting Kathy Rapasadi. \u00a0And I am doing this enthusiastically.<\/p>\n<p>I have known about Rapasadi for years, but only met her last Monday night.\u00a0 I know about her diligent work on behalf of clients and the people of Madison County.\u00a0 The most important role, in my opinion, of a county judge is Family Court.\u00a0 There the kids who are in trouble, or surrounded by trouble, are tumbled into the legal system.\u00a0 They rely on judges to remove them from dangerous homes and parents.\u00a0 They also need judges to try to keep other families intact.\u00a0 It is both sides of the same coin, but relies on more than a simple toss.<\/p>\n<p>This is where Ms. Rapasadi\u2019s true experience becomes important.\u00a0 17 years as an assistant DA over two decades in private practice.\u00a0 And yes, it\u2019s also where her being a woman is important.\u00a0\u00a0 As a conservative Republican, I fume every time a liberal plays the \u201cwar on women\u201d card.\u00a0 But in this election the \u201cinexperience card\u201d is being played on both women on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>My life is filled with strong women.\u00a0 I am glad that I have had the pleasure to meet one more.
