EMILY D. SALKA<\/h1>\n

BROOKFIELD: Emily D. \u201cEmmy\u201d Salka, 22, of Keith Rd., passed away Tuesday, October\u00a027, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.<\/h3>\n

Emmy was born on May 2<\/p>\n

0, 1993 in Hamilton, NY, a daughter of John and Erin Earl Salka.\u00a0She was a graduate of Brookfield High School and attended SUNY, Oneonta. Emmy had a\u00a0passion for reading and always had a book in her hands no matter where she was.<\/p>\n

She was\u00a0also a gifted and talented artist and photographer whose ability to capture images of birds\u00a0and flowers came from her heart and from her soul. She truly loved nature and the\u00a0remarkable splendor it offered. Emmy could light up a room with her smile and people were\u00a0drawn to her warm and compassionate personality.<\/p>\n

All through her illness, she would take\u00a0things in stride, and her strength was something that others recognized but Emmy never\u00a0needed to acknowledge; her spirit did that for her.<\/p>\n

Her passing will leave a hole in many a\u00a0heart and she will be missed by so many. Emmy truly was a kind and generous person,\u00a0always willing to give unto others all she could.<\/p>\n

Surviving are her parents, John and Erin; her brother, Aleksandr at home; her maternal\u00a0grandparents, Geoffrey and Denise Earl of Erieville; and a large and loving family, including\u00a0several aunts and uncles and cousins.<\/p>\n

In keeping with her spirit, services are private at the convenience of her family.<\/p>\n

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Joseph L. Popp, Jr. Butterfly\u00a0Conservatory, 5802 State Hwy. 7, Oneonta, NY 13820.<\/p>\n
