(Hamilton, NY \u2013 Nov. 2015) Fresh from last year’s successful Kickstarter campaign and tour, versatile indie songstress Lauren Mettler is breaking new ground with her outreach to kids and families.<\/p>\n

On Saturday Dec.5 \u00a0join the Earlville Opera House for an\u00a0Afternoon with Lauren\u00a0for a holiday themed performance at 2 p.m. The concert is part of\u00a0the Earlville Winter Celebration activities. Lauren brings all her skills as a singer-songwriter, performer, and arts educator with folk, blues, and world influences to this new show for young audiences.<\/p>\n

Lauren’s voice, nuanced and beguiling, captivates her listeners as she leads them through beautiful ballads, comedic anecdotes, and holiday tunes on guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and penny whistle to celebrate the season.\u00a0 Her repertoire displays shades of the blues, world music, and is sprinkled with sweet little ditties reminiscent of favorite jazz classics.<\/p>\n

The concert is about an hour in length and will be followed by a brief reception with the artist. This is a \u201cpay what you want\u201d event; the Opera House\u2019s way of saying thanks to the community. The Earlville Opera House is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.<\/p>\n

This performance is the second of an EOH series of Youth Programs by Young Artists.\u00a0 EOH put out a call to young artists to create programming for youth and families this past May.\u00a0 EOH\u2019s goal is to grow interesting work for families on a grassroots level while also making professional opportunities available to young artists.\u00a0 Call EOH to find out more.<\/p>\n
