(Sherburne, NY \u2013 Dec. 2015) Do you have water features \u2013 such as lakes, ponds, and pools \u2013 on your property? Are you curious about changes that will take place in these types of features during March, April, May and beyond?<\/p>\n

Join Friends of Rogers and guest presenter Robert Benton at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27 for a conversation on local water features, as well as living organisms in and around them. The program will be held in the Visitor Center on State Route 80 in Sherburne; those needing to may use the adjacent parking lot, and the center is accessible.<\/p>\n

In preparation for the program, up to five participants are eligible to schedule a complimentary \u201cwalk around with Benton\u201d to examine their water feature, and he will offer suggestions to improve its viability. Start planning now before the weather obliterates the water feature from viewing.<\/p>\n

To be considered for one of the free walk arounds, e-mail the following information to herps@tasis.us<\/u> by Feb. 13, 2016: contact information, any questions you may have about your water feature, a description of the feature, a high quality photograph of the feature, and a map of the feature\u2019s location. Start recording this information now before the weather obliterates the water feature from viewing, Benton recommends.<\/p>\n

While there is no charge, Friends of Rogers encourages contributions to support future operations. Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
