(Morrisville, NY \u2013 Jan. 2016) Morrisville State College President David Rogers will be speaking about entrepreneurship during a \u201cHow to Think Like an Entrepreneur\u201d webinar which will be held\u00a0Jan. 21 from\u00a07 to 8:30 p.m.\u00a0in the Oxford Academy High School Auditorium.<\/p>\n

President Rogers will present \u201cConnections to Entrepreneurism and Applied Learning\u201d during the event, which is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Throughout his 16-year tenure, Rogers has helped create a culture of entrepreneurship at MSC, known for its hands-on, experiential education where students can refine their entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills in specialized learning labs and true-to-life facilities.<\/p>\n

Rogers has served in numerous roles including Provost; Vice President for Academic Affairs; Chief Information Officer; Dean of the College\u2019s School of Business; and Interim Dean of the Norwich Campus and the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He currently serves on numerous community boards representing agricultural agencies, medical partnerships, and economic development stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Rogers earned his Ph.D. in labor economics, collective bargaining, and econometrics from the SUNY College of Industrial Labor Relations at Cornell University. He also holds a master\u2019s degree from Cornell University and a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

Also speaking during the program are Pro Football Hall of Famer Floyd Little, who will present \u201cHow to Think Like an Entrepreneur,\u201d and Mary Branham, president of Pivotel, LLC, who will talk about \u201cBuilding Values and Roots of an Entrepreneur.\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon retirement from the Denver Broncos in 1976, Little was a television commentator on\u00a0NBC Sports, and later made the transition from star athlete to successful businessman. From 1977 to 1979, he received formal training while attending the Ford Motor Executive Management Training Program where he participated in extensive seminars and in-field training in the areas of sales, marketing, accounting, finance and purchasing.<\/p>\n

Branham, who lives in Oxford, is part owner and president of a small certified women-owned telecom business. The business provides EF&I services throughout the country to major corporations such as Comcast, Juniper Networks, and Verizon Wireless.<\/p>\n

This event is part of an entrepreneurship initiative offered by a working group of leaders and networkers from all sectors of greater Chenango County, including Morrisville State College, the Oxford Academy Central School District, Town of Oxford, Commerce Chenango, NBT Bank, local business leaders, and other local foundations and community organizations.<\/p>\n
