\"unnamed<\/a>The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority announced yesterday that Reaves Dental Practice is the first dental office in Oneida\u00a0and Herkimer Counties to receive the Authority\u2019s RecycleOne Business Certification.<\/p>\n

The RecycleOne Business Certification is an acknowledgment awarded to local businesses that demonstrate environmental\u00a0leadership when it comes to recycling and waste reduction.<\/p>\n

\u201cReaves Dental Practice is a father and son practice that has been operating in the greater Utica area for almost 40 years and is\u00a0being recognized for their commitment taking extra steps to reduce our region\u2019s waste stream. Reaves Dental has also developed\u00a0a comprehensive recycling, solid waste, and energy reduction program in accordance with the Authority\u2019s RecycleOne Business\u00a0Program Guidelines,\u201d said Emily Albright, authority director of Recycling.<\/p>\n

Sustainable efforts include:<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Forming an in-house Green Team.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Encouraging the use of recyclable containers in the office and implementing energy efficient policies.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Promotion of responsible and efficient water usage in all areas of work.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Use of energy efficient appliances and LED light bulbs.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Installation of motion sensor lighting in areas to save energy.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Utilizing environmentally-friendly products.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 The donation of items for beneficial use rather than disposal.<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Developing a plan to install solar panels for power.<\/p>\n
