Join Friends of Rogers and guest presenter Robert Benton at 2 pm on March 12 for \u201cWildlife Biology\u00a0and Conservation,\u201d a conversation on the application of ecological principles to help benefit the\u00a0management of wildlife species and their habitats, one of our most important natural resources.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s extremely important to increase public awareness in terms of what actions need to be taken to\u00a0positively impact wildlife populations,\u201d said Environmental Educator Sarah Freedman. \u201cOnce a species\u00a0becomes extinct, it becomes impossible to study that species and learn from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participants will have the opportunity to learn several of the most important policies and procedures\u00a0that work to preserve wildlife populations, as well as enabling them to thrive. Visitors will also have the\u00a0opportunity to ask their own questions about their impact on wildlife.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe you want to know what to do if you spot a bear or deer in a human community, or if you find\u00a0an abandoned animal that appears to need help. No question is off the table,\u201d said Freedman.<\/p>\n

This unique presentation is made possible thanks to the generosity of Evergreene Graphics in Greene.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely grateful to Evergreene Graphics for partnering with us,\u201d said Simon Solomon, FOR\u00a0executive director. \u201cSince 2011, when Friends of Rogers saved Rogers Environmental Education Center\u00a0from closing, we have relied on the generosity of local businesses like Evergreene Graphics to support\u00a0community activities, allowing this vital resource to be preserved \u2013 and to flourish.\u201d<\/p>\n

The program will be held in the Bird Cabin on state Route 80 in Sherburne. While there is no charge,\u00a0Friends of Rogers encourages contributions to support future operations. Rogers Center is operated by\u00a0Friends of Rogers\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers\u00a0educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday\u00a0through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
