\"IMG_1271\"<\/a>The First Presbyterian Church in Cazenovia will celebrate a Palm Sunday worship\u00a0service at 10 a.m. March 2o.<\/p>\n

Vincent Guarneiri, director of music, has planned a service of music. The\u00a0Jubilante Youth Bell Choir will play \u201cHoly, Holy, Holy\u201d for the Prelude. The Senior\u00a0Choir will sing the anthem \u201cBlessed Is He!\u201d by Lloyd Larson. The organ postlude will\u00a0be \u201cPierce Heroique\u201d by Cesar Franck\u00a0The Dr.Reverend Virginia B. \u201cGinny\u201d Smith will deliver the message This Doesn\u2019t\u00a0Make Sense. Reverend Smith\u2019s message centers on two passages from the Gospel of<\/p>\n

Rev. Smith\u2019s message centers on two passages from the Gospel of\u00a0Luke: Jesus\u2019s\"churchfront\"<\/a> triumphal entry into Jerusalem and then his appearance before Pilate.\u00a0Smith is retired after 33 years of ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church, having\u00a0served most recently as the Associate Executive Presbyter for Ministry in the Chicago\u00a0Presbytery. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological\u00a0Seminary, Princeton, N.J., and her doctor of ministry degree from McCormick\u00a0Theological Seminary, Chicago, Ill. She is currently on the staff at the Spiritual Renewal\u00a0Center in Syracuse, as a spiritual director and workshop leader.<\/p>\n

The children from the Sunday school will distribute Palms that have been made into crosses. The palm crosses are made by villagers in Tanzania providing them with much\u00a0needed extra income.<\/p>\n

Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday, is the Sunday before Easter. Palm Sunday\u00a0remembers Jesus\u2019 triumphant entry into Jerusalem near the end his public ministry.<\/p>\n

When Jesus entered the city with his entourage, people laid palm branches in the road\u00a0before him and greeted him as the long-awaited Messiah. They shouted \u201cBlessed is the\u00a0King who comes in the name of the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n
