While some may think this\u00a0means looking down on the earth from a high altitude, such as out of a plane window, there is actually more to\u00a0it than that. In addition to the \u201cbirds eye view\u201d they are able to enjoy, our avian friends also possess the ability\u00a0to perceive certain ultraviolet wavelengths that people cannot.<\/p>\n<p>Join Friends of Rogers on March 24 to view your surroundings \u201cThrough the Eyes of a Bird.\u201d During this program,\u00a0guests will have the opportunity to see the world through the perspective of a bird, while learning how they\u00a0utilize their unique sense of vision to their advantage every day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHumans only have three primary color receptors \u2500 red, green and blue,\u201d said Environmental Educator Sarah\u00a0Freedman. \u201cBirds, whose eyesight is two to three times better than humans, have a fourth receptor that allows\u00a0them to see things we can\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the Eyes of a Bird\u201d will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. in Bird Cabin right off state Route 80 in Sherburne.\u00a0Pre-registration, at $2 for members and $3 for not-yet-members, is highly recommended. Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization\u00a0that offers educational programs for people of all ages.
