The Lung Association has three remaining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lung.org\/local-content\/_content-items\/get-involved\/events\/ny-tcs-nyc-2016-marathon.html\" target=\"_blank\">guaranteed entry charity bibs<\/a> available for runners who commit to raising $5,000 dollars each to support the Lung Association\u2019s ongoing efforts to promote healthy lungs and healthy air.\u00a0 Runners who have already gained entry to the Marathon are also invited to join the American Lung Association of the Northeast\u2019s 2016 Marathon Team and are asked to raise $100 per mile, or $2,620.\u00a0 Last year Marathon runners contributed $34,000 to support the Lung Association\u2019s mission of saving lives by preventing lung disease and improving lung health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Lung Association has been a participating charity in the New York City Marathon for seven years now and it has been a wonderful experience,\u201d said Jeff Seyler, President &amp; CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast.\u00a0 \u201cWhile this event is well known for its crowd support, elite racers <!--more-->and celebrity sightings, the individuals who choose to run in the marathon on behalf of a charity are the real stars in the minds of people battling debilitating diseases like lung disease.\u00a0\u00a0 Those running on behalf of the Lung Association bring us closer to realizing our vision of a world free of lung disease with every stride they take.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Runners who choose to run on behalf of the American Lung Association of the Northeast will be heavily supported in their efforts to achieve their fundraising goals.\u00a0 Each runner will receive a fundraising guide, monthly fundraising support calls, and a personal fundraising website.\u00a0 All team members will receive an American Lung Association of the Northeast marathon t-shirt.<\/p>\n<p>To inquire about joining the American Lung Association of the Northeast\u2019s team, contact team coordinators Serena Arrabito and Erica Masin at <a>nycmarathon@LungNE.org<\/a>.
