The workshops include Getting to Know Our Ceramic Studio with Bette Rintrona and Wendy Seifried a mid-morning class <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224663\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Monday\u2019s<\/span><\/span>, Beginner to Intermediate Wheel Thrown Pottery with Marie Imundo a night class <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224664\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Monday\u2019s<\/span><\/span>, and Exploring Crystalline Glazes with Katherine Harrison, held during the weekend of <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224665\"><span class=\"aQJ\">May 14 and 15<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Getting to Know Our Ceramic Studio, <\/b>every <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224666\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Monday, May 2 through May 23<\/span><\/span> from <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224667\"><span class=\"aQJ\">10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/span><\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>This class is a great way to get to know our ceramic studio as a beginner, intermediate or advanced potter. You decide what the class will be for you. You can be taught through instructor-guided hand-built projects, work on group projects, or work independently. This class will introduce you<!--more--> to our studio procedures through various projects. The instructors will teach these projects or you can come up with projects on your own. You can learn the basics or just use our studio if you are an advanced potter.<\/p>\n<p>You will be considered an Independent Potter for the month of May by taking this class.\u00a0 As an independent potter you are given the opportunity to use the pottery space on your own terms and time during View open hours. You will be given your own shelf for the month where you can store your belongings and pottery creations. This class will make you eligible to sign up for monthly Independent Pottery at View for subsequent months as well.<\/p>\n<p><b>Beginner to Intermediate Wheel Thrown Pottery with Marie Imundo,<\/b><b> <\/b>Mondays, <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224668\"><span class=\"aQJ\">May 9 through June 20<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224669\"><span class=\"aQJ\">6 to 9 p.m.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This class is perfect for those individuals who have never taken a pottery class before or those who want to take their skills to the next level. Beginners will work on building fundamental skills. More experienced students will build upon those skills. Different types of clay and properties will be explained, as well as review of equipment and tools, and basic studio etiquette. Instruction will include a hand-built project. All works created will be glazed and fired.<\/p>\n<p><b>Exploring Crystalline Glazes with Katherine Harrison<\/b><b>, <\/b>Saturday and\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224670\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Sunday, May 14 and 15<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_348224671\"><span class=\"aQJ\">9 a.m. to noon<\/span><\/span>.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>This two-day workshop is designed for ceramic artists who are interested in learning about the process of crystalline glazing. You will participate in the two most critical factors in the development of crystals; glaze application and the firing process. You will work with Cone 6 base glazes and experiment with various colorants and oxides. You will walk away with an understanding of the chemical process, test tiles that show the results of their own glazing and a record of the cone six firing ramps. The hope is for all who attend to be confident in mixing their own glazes and eager to start exploring the potential of their own crystalline glaze practice.<\/p>\n<p>Space is limited for some of these courses, and preregistration is required.
