<\/a>We are casting ‘We The Animals,’\u00a0a film by Emmy-nominated director Jeremiah Zagar.\u00a0No acting experience is necessary to audition.\u00a0Auditions will be held at Utica City Hall,\u00a01 Kennedy Plaza, Utica,\u00a0Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Following are the characters for which actors are sought:<\/p>\nDustin – Caucasian male ages 12-14, quirky slender kid<\/p>\n
Old Man – Ages 60 – 80, Caucasian male<\/p>\n
George – Late 40s – early 60s, large bulky Caucasian male, 6\u20192\u2019\u2019 or taller<\/p>\n
Pregnant Woman – Mid 20\u2019s – mid 30\u2019s, must be 7-8 months pregnant by August<\/p>\n
Town Woman – 20\u2019s to 30\u2019s, female resident in town<\/p>\n
Concerned Citizen- 40\u2019s to 60\u2019s, nice small lady, sees boys playing in street<\/p>\n
School Boys – 3-4 Caucasian boys, ages 12-14, tough kids.<\/p>\n
Group of friends welcome!<\/p>\n
Haggard Man – 30\u2019s – 70\u2019s, male, Dirty hair. Quirky<\/p>\n
Kevin – Ages 25-55 male, owner of a drug store in town<\/p>\n
We\u2019d love to open this opportunity up to as\u00a0many members of the community as possible. The film, based on the best-selling novel We The Animals by Justin Torres,\u00a0tells the story of the harsh yet loving dynamic of a mixed-race, working\u00a0class family, seen through the eyes of the youngest son as he discovers his\u00a0We The Animals is a passion project for the Emmy-nominated director, Jeremiah Zagar, a well-known documentary filmmaker who has been developing this film for several years with the support of the Sundance Institute and the Independent Filmmaker Project.<\/p>\n
