"MayorUtica Mayor Robert Palmieri

“It is with great excitement we announce that the sale of Hotel Utica to Andy Patel of Visions Hotels has been completed, with the final closing expected in the next several days.

Since he first invested in Utica several years ago, Andy has consistently demonstrated tremendous character and support for our City.

The City of Utica could not have asked for a better partner or steward of this iconic building. Despite drastic improvement in Downtown Utica over the past four years, the uncertainty surrounding the Hotel Utica did cause understandable frustration in the community.

But today marks a new chapter in Utica’s revival and I thank Andy for his vision and belief in Utica. I also thank Comptroller Morehouse for his continued partnership, the Common Council for improving an important measure that made the deal palatable and my staff for their tireless work in ensuring this historic day came to fruition.”

Visions Hotel CEO Andy Patel

“I fully understand the sentimental significance Hotel Utica has in this community and we will transform it into a landmark the City can be proud of. As a company, we have invested heavily in Utica because we like the direction it is heading under Mayor Palmieri’s leadership. As I’ve consistently stated, the Mayor and his team make the choice to develop in Utica an easy one. We look forward to future growth and being a partner in Utica’s continued revitalization.”
