Photo courtesy Friends of Rogers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Free Family Fishing Day is a community-wide opportunity for visitors, particularly children, to fish Rogers Center\u00a0ponds in Sherburne without holding an otherwise mandatory New York State fishing license.<\/p>\n<p>On June 18, join novice and seasoned anglers for a few rounds of catch and release from 9 a.m. to noon. Hosted\u00a0by Friends of Rogers, the day is ideal for beginners eager to learn more about the sport, and for experts to\u00a0mentor future fishing enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack by popular demand for the third year in a row, Family Fishing Day is a great way for the whole family to\u00a0enjoy the outdoors together,\u201d said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. \u201cSpecial guests from\u00a0our local Trout Unlimited Chapter will help visitors get acquainted with the sport, while offering insight <!--more-->into\u00a0fishing as a hobby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clyde\u2019s Little Red Barn of Earlville is providing bait to Friends of Rogers in support of this year\u2019s program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are inspired by this generous donation from Clyde\u2019s,\u201d said Jessica Moquin, Friends of Rogers development\u00a0coordinator. \u201cContributions from local businesses and individuals keep program costs affordable \u2026 and in this\u00a0case, completely free of charge!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that\u00a0offers educational programs for all ages.
