\"6-6<\/a>Summer Adventure Camps, hosted by Friends of Rogers, offers friendship and fun in a safe environment where\u00a0children make fascinating discoveries as they explore the natural world around them. According to the American Camping Association (ACA), child development professionals recognize outdoor\u00a0summer experiences as valuable in helping children mature emotionally, intellectually, morally, socially, and physically.<\/p>\n

Held weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Summer Adventure Camps have weekly themes such as Crazy Cool\u00a0Creatures, Fishing Frenzy, Growing from STEM, Junior Explorers, Project Discovery, Rugged Naturalist, and The\u00a0Art of Nature.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an exciting opportunity for youth in our area,\u201d said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director.\u00a0\u201cWe have a variety of exciting activities planned this summer, and the opportunity for kids ages 3 through 14 to\u00a0get outside and have new adventures is always fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends of Rogers is again collaborating with the Sherburne-Earlville Central School District to provide free<\/p>\n

round-trip transportation from several Norwich locations \u2013 the Norwich City High School and the Howard<\/p>\n

Johnson hotel. New this year, round-trip transportation will also be available from the North Norwich Post<\/p>\n

Thanks to dozens of local businesses and organizations, Friends of Rogers is again able host a Campership<\/p>\n

Program which makes Summer Adventure Camps available to local families who might not otherwise be able to<\/p>\n

afford this positive youth development opportunity. To date, scholarships have been supported by: Bullthistle\u00a0Hiking Club, Edmeston Rotary Club, Hamilton Lions Club, Marjorie Brunton, Norwich Power Equipment, St. Ann\u2019s\u00a0Episcopal Church of Afton, and Steel Sales.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely grateful for the tremendous support we have received for our Campership Program,\u201d said\u00a0Jessica Moquin, Friends of Rogers development coordinator. \u201cThese generous contributions are investments in\u00a0our mission, allowing our programs to serve our local communities like never before!\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that\u00a0offers educational programs for all ages.
