The driver of the vehicle, John Q. Chavous, 49, of Scotia, was found to be impaired by drugs and in possession of cocaine, crack-cocaine, heroin, several controlled substances in pill form and numerous trademark counterfeit DVDs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Chavous was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Albany where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. Chavous refused to submit to a blood draw to determine the drug content in his system and was subsequently charged with:<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony<\/li>\n<li>Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: intent to sell, a class B felony<\/li>\n<li>Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Second-degree trademark counterfeiting, a class E felony<\/li>\n<li>Driving while ability impaired by drugs; a misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Numerous vehicle and traffic violations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>He was arraigned before the Town of Guilderland Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail without bail, to reappear June 9 at 5 p.m.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 4, at approximately 3:51 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 at Exit 25 for multiple traffic violations.
