\"CAAC<\/a>The Canastota Area Association of Churches marched together again this year in\u00a0Canastota\u2019s annual Boxing Hall of Fame Parade earlier this month, carrying signs and\u00a0banners for each of the member churches able to participate. This event is a positive way\u00a0for area Christians to participate in the life of the community and reminds everyone of the\u00a0opportunities and service the twelve member churches provide.<\/p>\n

This year the entourage was led by American and Christian flags flanking the CAAC banner\u00a0that displays the group\u2019s new logo. That logo features the three pine trees emblematic of\u00a0Canastota\u2019s literal meaning in Native American language. Superimposed on those three\u00a0pines are three gold crosses, emblematic of Christ\u2019s sacrifice at Calvary. Above and below\u00a0the logo is the newly-adopted slogan, \u201cUnited in Christ – Serving Canastota.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each church participating brought their own contribution to the festivities, ranging from\u00a0simply smiling and greeting the crowd to passing out candy and ice pops to the kids. CAAC\u00a0Parade Chairman Scott Trefz says the group loves the opportunity to show folks the unity of\u00a0Christians and show a little love in the streets, \u201cWe\u2019ll definitely be back in the parade next\u00a0year, probably with more of the churches representing!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
