\"Michelle<\/a>Michelle Roberts, a\u00a0Barneveld native, has realized a dream two generations in the\u00a0making as her\u00a0Messenger Birds\u2122 take flight to Hallmark stores across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy 91-year-old grandmother\u00a0worked with Hallmark products her whole life and absolutely loved them,\u201d\u00a0Roberts explains.\u00a0\u201cShe always shared that love with me as a kid. Then, a few\u00a0years ago, she told me she always wanted to have her very own\u00a0product featured\u00a0in Hallmark stores. Now, in a way, her dream has come true through my Messenger\u00a0Birds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Messenger Birds\u2122 are a\u00a0handmade gift concept that Roberts crafts from a block of clay. The bird design\u00a0is made with a hole\u00a0through the middle so it can hold a special, handwritten\u00a0note. Each bird is unique with its own special markings and details.\u00a0The gift\u00a0sender includes a heartfelt message intended specifically for the recipient.<\/p>\n

Roberts has been working on\u00a0her handcrafted creations for nearly 5 years, beginning at the kitchen table of\u00a0her small apartment\u00a0in New Hartford and growing to include online sales and\u00a0independent boutique stores across the country and around the world\u00a0\u2013 with\u00a0sales as far away Australia. However the recent connection to Hallmark stores\u00a0has upped the anti when it comes to\u00a0potential growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough a chance and\u00a0friendly connection, my Messenger Birds were shown to top level executives\u00a0within Hallmark and it\u00a0turns out, they really loved them,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cSo\u00a0far, they\u2019ve made orders for a number of stores from New York to Hawaii.\u00a0With\u00a0so much potential for growth, I\u2019m now planning for additions to the Messenger\u00a0Birds\u2122 line. Hallmark has already\u00a0expressed interest in reviewing them once\u00a0they\u2019re complete.\u201d<\/p>\n
