The Mercury swerved over the double solid center line of the roadway several times and a traffic stop was conducted.<\/p>\n<p>While interviewing the operator, identified as David C. Butler, 54, Fountain observed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on Butler&#8217;s breath. Sobriety tests <!--more-->indicated Butler was intoxicated and he was taken into custody for DWI.<\/p>\n<p>A breath test at\u00a0the SP Oneida barracks determined Butler&#8217;s blood-alcohol content to be .18 percent. Butler was arraigned\u00a0in Verona Town Court on charges of DWI, aggravated DWI with BAC of .18 percent or greater, failure to keep right and failure to signal turn.<\/p>\n<p>Butler was remanded to Oneida County Jail\u00a0in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bail bond\u00a0to reappear in Verona Town Court at a later date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oneida-based state police charged a Governeur\u00a0man with aggravated DWI following\u00a0a traffic stop in Verona Sunday evening.
