Dr. Munson was born on Aug. 13, 1841. When the Civil War broke out he was teaching in Marcellus Falls and joined the 44th New York Volunteers. He served from 1862 to 1865. He was serving in Washington D.C. and was detailed to the house where President Abraham Lincoln died.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

State Police in Lafayette announce the arrest of Robert G. White, 34, of 1748 Barker Street, Tully; and Cody J. Humphrey, 30, of 8 Pine St., Homer, on two counts of first-degree falsifying business records, a class E felony; and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class A misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

Both suspects were charged after an investigation into the missing memorial plaque of Dr. Willis Webster Munson, which was reported missing July 22, 2016, from a fixed monument in the Town of Otisco.<\/p>\n

The investigation revealed White and Humphrey sold broken brass pieces of the plaque at a recycling center in Syracuse July 25 and 26.<\/p>\n

An employee of the recycling center notified investigators after seeing a report of the missing plaque on the local news.<\/p>\n

White and Humphrey were arraigned and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
