Congratulations to the Hamilton\u00a0Fire Department for their diligence and professional service to our community.<\/p>\n<p>Highway Superintendent Glazier reported that Hamilton has jointly purchased a paver\u00a0for roadwork. Sharing the cost on this equipment with 4 other towns\u2013DeRuyter, Lincoln,\u00a0Fenner, and Eaton\u2013will save money on road maintenance for all involved. In addition to\u00a0Town work on our roads, the County has been working on Hamilton Street, with road\u00a0cuts made in <!--more-->preparation for improved drainage.<\/p>\n<p>A representative from Senator Hanna\u2019s office will be on hand in the Town Office on\u00a0Tuesday, September 20th from 11am \u2013 12pm. Stop in to say hello or share any\u00a0concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Henke, co-chair of the Climate Action Working Group, presented details on the\u00a0Climate Smart Communities program offered by New York State. The Town Council is\u00a0studying the plan and at the September meeting will consider a draft resolution to\u00a0participate in the program.<\/p>\n<p>Expect a mailing in September, a reminder to save the date for the public hearing on the\u00a0revised Town of Hamilton Comprehensive Plan. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,\u00a0September 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Public Library Community Room. Visit the\u00a0Town website for more information and to view the Revised Comprehensive Plan. Hard\u00a0copies of the plan can be obtained through the Town Office.\u00a0http:\/\/www.townofhamiltonny.org<\/p>\n<p>The Town Office will be moving to temporary location while work on the new office\u00a0continues. Our old home on Broad Street has a new tenant waiting in the wings, so we\u00a0will be working from 40 Milford Street while the renovations at our future home at 38\u00a0Milford Street continue. Renting right next door to the new location will save money and\u00a0allow us oversight as the project moves forward. Look for an upcoming announcement\u00a0of the date of our September move.<\/p>\n<p>The Hamilton Town Council meets on the second Thursday of the month at the Town of\u00a0Hamilton office at 16 Broad Street in the Village of Hamilton at 6:30 pm.
