This fall join Elisha Davies, Pat Hill, and Julia Shortzberger for the chance to take a closer look at these images and <!--more-->they stories they tell. The presentation, \u201cExploring Local History Through Postcards,\u201d will take place on Wednesday, September 28<sup>th<\/sup>, at <span data-term=\"goog_961773780\">7:00 pm<\/span> in the Community Room.<\/p>\n<p>During this interactive presentation, the Library\u2019s Museum staff will engage the audience using Visual Thinking Strategies (V.T.S.) as a springboard for discussion. V.T.S. is an inquiry-based method used in museums and classrooms across the country to foster visual literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>The postcard series features high-resolution photographs selected from the Library\u2019s Archive Room. The images represent mid-nineteenth to early-twentieth century Cazenovia life. The postcards are currently on display at the entrance to the Library\u2019s gallery and will be available for purchase following the presentation. The complete collection includes \u201cWest Shore Station,\u201d \u201cThe Village Pier,\u201d \u201cLincklaen House, 1866,\u201d \u201cLegion Post 88 Band,\u201d \u201cCows on Main,\u201d Cazenovia House Kitchen,\u201d \u201cThe Sunken Canoe,\u201d \u201cCazenovia Canning Factory,\u201d \u201cWest on Albany St, c. 1890,\u201d and \u201cChittenango Falls.\u201d Individual postcards will be available for $1.50. Purchase one of each or mix and match ten cards for $12.50.<\/p>\n<p>All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public.
