\"10x10donationexamples\"<\/a>More than 160 pieces of art donated by seventy-five local and national artists, students, friends\u00a0and teachers will be sold via silent auction during the Schweinfurth\u2019s 35th anniversary art event Thursday, Oct. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n

With all bids beginning at only $35, it is a terrific opportunity to\u00a0purchase works by Central New York artists such as Stephen Achimore, Chris Baker, Karen Burns,\u00a0Barbara Delmonico, Hetty Easter, Nicora Gangi, Mary Giehl, Tom Hussey, Peggy Manring, Jill\u00a0Newton and Katie Waugh among many others.<\/p>\n

All artwork measures 10 inches x 10 inches, and\u00a0include a range of mediums from paintings to photographs to felted pieces to mixed media.<\/p>\n

The event is a fundraiser for the Art Center, and also an opportunity for local artists to become\u00a0better known in the community. Three of the donating artists will be chosen for solo exhibitions at\u00a0the Schweinfurth.<\/p>\n

The event will include live music, a jazz trio led by pianist Dino Losito, appetizers from Gilda\u2019s in\u00a0Skaneateles, wine from Owera Vineyards of Cazenovia, and coffee and desserts from Bailiwick\u00a0Market &amp; Caf\u00e9 of Elbridge. Delmonico Insurance of Skaneateles is the event\u2019s lead sponsor.<\/p>\n

On view in the Schweinfurth\u2019s galleries during the event is the Emerging Artists of Central New\u00a0York exhibition which celebrates the Schweinfurth\u2019s mission of giving opportunities to emerging\u00a0artists in the region. Gallery Julius features Anatomy of Spirit: A Collection of Mixed Media\u00a0Paintings by Warner Varno, a native of Central New York who now resides in Denver, Co.<\/p>\n

Advance tickets, purchased by Oct. 5, are $25 for members and $30 for non-members.\u00a0Donating artists may purchase two tickets for $25. Tickets at the door are $35 for members of the\u00a0Schweinfurth and $40 for non-members. Revenue from the event will support the Schweinfurth and its many exhibits, classes, scholarships\u00a0and community programs such as free poetry readings and First Friday events.<\/p>\n
