Winning images will be featured in the 2017 Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Calendar.<\/p>\n<p>They can be viewed on the Erie Canalway NHC website at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eriecanalway.org\/gallery\/photo-contests\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.eriecanalway.org\/gallery\/photo-contests&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1475633072434000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG6s_YQnLxPlY58V2m_942zaSYTXQ\">http:\/\/www.eriecanalway.org<wbr \/>\/gallery\/photo-contests<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough the lens of winning photographers, these images offer a snapshot of what makes this 500-mile ribbon of waterway connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes a national treasure,\u201d said Bob Radliff, Erie Canalway Executive Director.<\/p>\n<p>Judges selected twelve winners from 300 entries. First, second and third place photographs were chosen in each of four contest categories: Classic Canal, Along the Trail, On the Water, and Canal Communities. The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor preserves our extraordinary heritage, promotes the Corridor as a world class tourism destination, and fosters vibrant communities connected by the waterway.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canals.ny.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.canals.ny.gov\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1475633072435000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHfUmwr5o6Nheq8XeoMwE8hACKdYQ\">New York State Canal Corporation<\/a> owns and operates the New York State Canal System, which is typically open for navigation from May 1 through November 15.
