DO YOU:<\/p>\n

  • Express Frustration. Taking out your frustrations on your fellow motorists can lead to violence or a\u00a0crash.<\/li>\n
  • Fail to Pay Attention when Driving. Reading, eating, drinking or talking on the phone, can be a major\u00a0cause of roadway crashes.<\/li>\n
  • Tailgate. This is a major cause of crashes that can result in serious deaths or injuries.<\/li>\n
  • Make Frequent Lane Changes. If you whip in and out of lanes to advance ahead, you can be a danger\u00a0to other motorists.<\/li>\n
  • Run Red Lights. Do not enter an intersection on a yellow light. Remember flashing red lights should be\u00a0treated as a stop sign.<\/li>\n
  • Speed. Going faster than the posted speed limit, being a \u201croad racer\u201d and going too fast for conditions\u00a0are some examples of speeding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    LIFE IN THE FAST LANE<\/p>\n

    PLAN AHEAD. ALLOW YOURSELF EXTRA TIME.<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Concentrate. Don\u2019t allow yourself to become distracted by talking on your cellular phone, eating,\u00a0drinking or putting on makeup.<\/li>\n
    • Relax. Tune the radio to your favorite relaxing music. Music can calm your nerves and help you to\u00a0enjoy your time in the car.<\/li>\n
    • Drive the Posted Speed Limit. Fewer crashes occur when vehicles are travelling at or about the same\u00a0speed.<\/li>\n
    • Identify Alternate Routes. Try mapping out an alternate route. Even if it looks longer on paper, you\u00a0may find it is less congested.<\/li>\n
    • Use Public Transportation. Public transportation can give you some much-needed relief from life\u00a0behind the wheel.<\/li>\n
    • Just be Late. If all else fails, just be late.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      WHEN CONFRONTED WITH AGGRESSIVE DRIVERS<\/p>\n

      Get Out of the Way.<\/p>\n

      • First and foremost make every attempt to get out of their way.\u00a0Put Your Pride Aside.<\/li>\n
      • Do not challenge them by speeding up or attempting to hold-your- own in your travel lane.\u00a0Avoid Eye Contact.<\/li>\n
      • Eye contact can sometimes enrage an aggressive driver.\u00a0Gestures.<\/li>\n
      • Ignore gestures and refuse to return them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Report Serious Aggressive Driving.<\/p>\n
