Madison County Sheriff\u2019s Investigators arrested Robert W. Kimball, 54, of\u00a0Chittenango, and charged him with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree (class\u00a0A misdemeanor). It is alleged that on Sept. 11, 2016, Kimball falsely reported to Madison\u00a0County deputies that his 2008 H3 Hummer was stolen from his residence.<\/p>\n

Through the investigation, it was determined that Kimball intentionally submerged the vehicle into\u00a0the pond on Oxbow Road in the Town of Cicero to avoid loan payments.<\/p>\n

Kimball was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear at the Sullivan Town Court\u00a0Nov. 1, 2016, to answer charges.<\/p>\n

VEHICLE STOLEN FROM MADISON COUNTY TOWN OF SULLIVAN RECOVERED IN ONONDAGA\u00a0COUNTY<\/p>\n

(Wampsville) A vehicle that was reported stolen from a residence on Route 5 in the Madison\u00a0County Town of Sullivan early Saturday morning was recovered Sunday afternoon submerged in a\u00a0pond on Oxbow Road, off Kirkville Road, in the Town of Cicero\u00a0The stolen vehicle came on the heels of an investigation into an attempted break-in at a neighboring\u00a0residence. At 6:11 AM\u00a0 Saturday morning, an unknown person attempted to break into a residence\u00a0on Route 5 near Quarry Road in the Town of Sullivan.<\/p>\n

The victim was sleeping when she was\u00a0awoken by a noise coming from the rear of her residence.\u00a0 The victim proceeded into her kitchen\u00a0where she observed a pair of hands with brown mesh gloves grasping the window sill through an\u00a0open window.\u00a0 The victim yelled at the suspect and slammed the window shut. The suspect fled in\u00a0an unknown direction of travel.\u00a0 The victim called 911 and deputies from the Madison County<\/p>\n

Sheriff\u2019s Office responded but were unable to locate the suspect.<\/p>\n

While speaking to neighbors of the victim regarding the attempted break-in, another person advised\u00a0that their blue 2008 H3 Hummer was missing from their residence. Additional canvassing of the\u00a0area, as well as statewide broadcast of the stolen vehicle information followed.<\/p>\n

Later Saturday, the blue Hummer was recovered from a pond in the Town of Cicero. The vehicle\u00a0was retrieved and brought to the Madison County Sheriff\u2019s Office for processing.<\/p>\n
