\"masterworks-chorale-chamber-singers-print-res-2\"<\/a>On Friday, Nov. 4, the Schweinfurth Art Center will host an evening of\u00a0performing and visual arts, featuring the 35th annual Quilts=Arts=Quilts juried exhibition,\u00a0American Quilts: History &amp; Art, and live performances by the MasterWorks Chorale\u00a0Chamber Singers.<\/p>\n

MasterWorks Chorale began as the Marcellus Chorale, founded in 1965 by Dr. Joseph\u00a0Centrone. In 1996, the name was changed to MasterWorks Chorale, reflecting an emphasis on classical music and choral masterpieces. Now rehearsing in Skaneateles\u00a0and drawing members from a three-county region, MasterWorks Chorale has\u00a0performed with church, community and school choral groups. The Chorale will be\u00a0performing two sets, first at 6:30 p.m. and then at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The exhibition pairing is an opportunity for viewers to see both contemporary and\u00a0historical quilting techniques in one visit. American Quilts: History and Art will showcase\u00a021 quilts grouped together by theme, such as African American Quilts, Amish Quilts,\u00a0Figurative Quilts, and more. This year\u2019s Quilts=Art=Quilts exhibit will feature 65 quilts\u00a0from 51 exhibiting artists, from all over the world including Belgium, Australia, and\u00a0Canada, as well as local artists such as Julia Graziano of Manlius and Ruth White of\u00a0Ithaca.<\/p>\n

Entry to First Friday events and exhibits are free and open to the public. Light\u00a0refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n

The Schweinfurth Art Center is a multi-art center that offers a range of exhibits, classes,\u00a0and programs for all ages throughout the year. The Art Center is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am \u2013 5 pm and Sunday 1 \u2013 5 pm. The Quilts=Arts=Quilts and American\u00a0Quilts: History & Art exhibitions will be open through Jan. 8, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
