Held\u00a0in hundreds of cities across the country, they give people the courage to open up about their\u00a0own struggle or loss, and the platform to change our culture&#8217;s approach to mental health.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to invest in new\u00a0research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The Out of the Darkness Walk in Madison County was held Oct. 1, 2016, at Jim Marshall Farms and was chaired by Janelle Powell, one of our original coalition members.
