\"11-3-givingtuesday-at-gilligans-11-29\"<\/a>Celebrate \u201c#GivingTuesday\u201d at Gilligan\u2019s in Sherburne Nov. 29 and support Rogers Center. From 4\u00a0p.m. until close, 20 percent of evening meal proceeds will be donated to Friends of Rogers.<\/p>\n

\u201c#GivingTuesday\u201d is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, \u201c#GivingTuesday\u201d kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday\u00a0and end-of- year giving.<\/p>\n

This \u201cFUNdraising\u201d dinner is part of Friends of Rogers\u2019 participation in \u201c#NYGivesDay,\u201d a 24-hour giving\u00a0challenge designed to raise awareness and funds to change the world for the better. All community members are encouraged to be part of the celebration by making a special gift to Friends of Rogers\u00a0Nov. 29 by visiting FriendsofRogers.org\/donate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely grateful to Gilligan\u2019s for partnering with us,\u201d said Simon Solomon, FOR executive director. \u201cSince 2011, when Friends of Rogers saved Rogers Environmental Education Center from closing, we have relied on local community members and generous businesses such as Gilligan\u2019s to support our activities, allowing this vital resource to be preserved \u2013 and to flourish.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m.\u00a0to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
