“View From Cliffs” alcohol inks – Linda Flynn<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Griffing Gallery of the Kallet Civic Center, 159 Main St., Oneida, will be hosting an exhibit of a variety of artworks created by local artist, Linda Flynn. The exhibit will run from November 1st to the end of December. Many of the pieces are for sale.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Linda has been drawing and painting for most of her life. She has a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of New Hampshire and has worked as a graphic designer and in the electronic engineering field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now she is back fulfilling her passion for the arts, creating visually stimulating worlds in two-dimensional design. She primarily paints with alcohol inks on ceramic tile and a synthetic surface known as Yupo pater, both of which are nonporous surfaces.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This feature allows the inks to dry on top of the surface and not saturate into the material’ therefore, the colors remain rich and vibrant.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Flynn creates a variety of landscapes and nature-inspired imagery with loud splashes of color, evoking even deeper emotions for a viewer. Using alcohol ink as a medium allows her inner creativity to flow in a fluid and organic way, helping guide her to more spontaneous compositions. As Linda says in her artist’s statement, “My artwork is all about color.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
