In preparation for \u201cChristmas at Lorenzo\u201d in Cazenovia, Mary Schalk, of Mary Schalk Design, and Jeffrey Mayer, Associate Professor of Fashion Design at Syracuse University, install and arrange their interpretation of \u201cDreaming of a White Christmas\u201d in the Study.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Historic Cazenovia will once again set the stage for a Central New York holiday\u00a0tradition, \u201cChristmas at Lorenzo.\u201d Inspired by the beloved Irving Berlin song, this year\u2019s\u00a0celebration will play upon the winter imagery of crystalized trees, a mantle of snow, frozen lakes\u00a0and crisp winter skies.<\/p>\n

\u201cDreaming of a White Christmas\u201d will enjoy extended hours and programming this holiday season,\u00a0according to co-chairs Lisa Brownback, Jenny Coughlin and Katherine Huftalen. \u201cIt\u2019s a magical\u00a0time to see the Mansion and the site transformed into a winter wonderland that will dazzle children\u00a0and adults, alike,\u201d offered Jenny Coughlin.<\/p>\n

Bedecked in holiday finery, Lorenzo will be open for afternoon tours from 1 to 4 p.m., Monday\u00a0through Sunday, Dec. 5 through 11. There will also be two special \u201cCandlelight Night\u201d\u00a0openings, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 8 and 9, from 7 to 9 p.m.\u2014and both nights will feature\u00a0the chance to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus in the Mansion, as presented by Merry Mischief.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During both \u201cCandlelight Night\u201d and weekend hours, live musical performances, sleigh rides\u00a0(weather permitting), and seasonal refreshments will be offered. On Sunday the 11th, patrons are\u00a0also invited to take a sleigh to the Rippleton Schoolhouse where \u201cmake and take\u201d holiday crafts and\u00a0refreshments will also be available.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristmas at Lorenzo\u201d is made possible by The Friends of Lorenzo, several Cazenovia community organizations and local businesses, and dozens of volunteer decorators and docents. A vast array of\u00a0distinctive gift-giving items is also available for purchase at the museum gift shop throughout the public hours of Dec. 5 through 11, with all purchases benefitting the many programs and activities at Lorenzo.<\/p>\n

A modest admission price of $6 for adults and $2 for children, 12 and under, is charged for the\u00a0holiday experience at Lorenzo this year.
