\"unnamed\"<\/a>For one Veteran\u2019s family, Falso Service Experts in Syracuse will make their Christmas \u2013 and\u00a0many Christmas\u2019 to come \u2013 a bit warmer.<\/p>\n

Dan is a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in Vietnam. His furnace is well over 20 years old, and during a routine\u00a0check-up it was revealed that there are small cracks in the heat exchanger. This directly contributes to decreased efficiency.<\/p>\n

It could have also resulted in the emission into his home of carbon monoxide, a gas which\u00a0rapidly accumulates in the blood by replacing the oxygen, causing symptoms similar to the flu, such as\u00a0headaches, fatigue and confusion, which can be deadly.<\/p>\n

Falso\u2019s General Manager Stephen Frank and a crew of installers will be at Dan\u2019s home for most of the day on\u00a0Dec. 22, starting at 8:30 a.m., to install a new, high-efficiency Lennox EL195 natural gas furnace for free. In\u00a0addition to the furnace itself, Falso Service Experts is donating a new thermostat, sheet metal, wiring, intake and\u00a0exhaust pipes, condensate drain pump, gas pipe, electrical wiring with new outlet, switch for new furnace and\u00a0all labor, at an estimated value of more than $5,000.<\/p>\n

Although in Dan\u2019s case carbon monoxide was not being emitted, once the heat exchanger is damaged it must be\u00a0replaced; you cannot patch it. It\u2019s also not something a homeowner can see themselves, a professional furnace\u00a0technician investigates the heat exchanger as a part of a comprehensive annual cleaning.<\/p>\n

Frank said this is the first furnace and install that Falso Service Experts has donated to a Veteran.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea came from my son who is a U.S. Navy Veteran and volunteered for work through his employer\u00a0(Anaren). He was very impressed with Clear Path for Veterans and shared his experience with me. I had just\u00a0returned from an interview for my job with the CEO of Service Experts, Scott Boxer, and he instilled in me the\u00a0importance of community involvement and giving back to the community,\u201d Frank said. \u201cMy Lennox sales rep\u00a0agreed to team up with us \u2013 they\u2019re donating top-quality equipment, and we\u2019re providing all of the expert\u00a0installation – and we reached out to Clear Path to see if they could find a Veteran in need of a new furnace for the upcoming heating season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Falso reached out to Clear Path\u2019s Peer Support Team Lead Brian Knapp, who then identified Dan and his need\u00a0for a complete furnace replacement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project by Falso speaks to the core of Clear Path\u2019s mission. We partner with businesses and organizations\u00a0who recognize the responsibility of communities to help those who serve because we believe the best way to\u00a0serve our military members and their family is through collaboration and partnerships,\u201d Knapp said. \u201cI am\u00a0grateful that we were able to make this connection, especially with the December temperatures that we have experienced.\u201d<\/p>\n

Falso Service Experts has 35 employees. The installation will be performed by Installation Manager Dave\u00a0MacCombie, and install team members Shaun Williams and Jonathon Hurst. Also helping to coordinate this project is Operations Manager Paul Wallace, and Residential Sales Consultant James Lardeo initially met with\u00a0Dan and measured his home in order to calculate the proper size furnace.<\/p>\n
