Becker\u00a0and Madison County Administrator Mark Scimone today announced the formation of a special steering committee to help guide an upcoming strategic planning initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Work associated with this plan is\u00a0aimed at strategically aligning county departments and the entire county workforce on projects and\u00a0programs that provide both outstanding service and value to the citizens and taxpayers of Madison\u00a0County. The initiative is referred to as Madison County\u2019s success plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the success planning process, we are working to focus <!--more-->our efforts on delivering high-quality services while also providing value to the taxpayers of Madison County,\u201d Becker said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Chairman Becker, the Success Plan will be comprised of three key integrated areas\u00a0of focus: The first outlines specific goals that define success for the year for Madison County; the second\u00a0is an Operating Plan detailing the work to achieve the goals; and the third is a quarterly performance\u00a0scorecard that will measure success in achieving the goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want the Success Planning process to be very open and collaborative,\u201d Becker said.\u00a0\u201cOur Steering Committee will represent voices from Madison County\u2019s business, education, health care\u00a0and non-profit communities, as well as men and women from various departments within Madison\u00a0County.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Madison County residents will have the opportunity to contribute to the planning\u00a0process through focus groups that will be conducted in February and a public input survey. The survey is now accessible on the County\u2019s website (www.MadisonCounty.ny.gov) and at various locations across the County including libraries, the Department of Motor Vehicles office, Town Halls, and the County Office Building.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Success Plan Steering Committee include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mark Scimone, Madison County Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Pete Walrod, Supervisor, Town of Georgetown<\/li>\n<li>Joseph Magliocca, Supervisor, City of Oneida<\/li>\n<li>Eric Faisst, Director, Madison County Public Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Teisha Cook, Director, Madison County Mental Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Althea Barney, Probation Supervisor, Madison County Probation Department<\/li>\n<li>Wally Fallon, Senior Highway Crew Supervisor, Madison County Highway Department<\/li>\n<li>Mary Burkett, Senior Motor Vehicle Representative, Madison County DMV<\/li>\n<li>Betsy Kennedy, Director, Cazenovia Public Library<\/li>\n<li>Melissa Spicer, CEO, Clear Path for Veterans<\/li>\n<li>Kipp Hicks, Executive Director, Madison County Industrial Development Agency<\/li>\n<li>Ronald Chesbrough, Ph.D., President, Cazenovia College<\/li>\n<li>June Clarke, Superintendent of Schools, Canastota Central School District<\/li>\n<li>John Clute, Mayor, Village of Wampsville<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Success Plan and performance scorecard will be shared with the community so it will be easy\u00a0for residents to see what the goals are, what the plan is to achieve the goals, and what grade we are scoring on our work to achieve the goals,\u201d Scimone said. \u201cThe entire process is collaborative and provides the community with an opportunity to see the blueprint we will be following to\u00a0provide best in class service and value our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Madison County has hired TransPro Consulting, a national public sector management company, to\u00a0help guide success plan development.\u00a0Work on the success plan will take place over the next several months and will be presented to the Madison County Board of Supervisors for adoption in June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman John M.
