\"\"<\/a>Join Commerce Chenango and the Hamilton Business Alliance Aug. 21 to experience the area\u2019s premier eco-tourist destination while socializing with fellow community members. Sponsored by Log Cabin Books, the \u201cBusiness After Hours\u201d will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Rogers Environmental Education Center on Route 80 in Sherburne.<\/p>\n

During that afternoon, North America will be treated to one of nature\u2019s most awe-inspiring sights when the\u00a0moon will completely cover the sun in a total eclipse. While Central NY is outside the path of the complete eclipse, viewers will see a partial eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun&#39;s disk.<\/p>\n

To commemorate this remarkable phenomenon, Friends of Rogers (FOR) has planned a variety of activities for\u00a0the \u201cBusiness After Hours,\u201d including delicious refreshments, door prizes, and a performance by acoustic musicians Jes & Birdy of Norwich.<\/p>\n

The two-hour, post-workday timeframe gives area professionals an opportunity to discuss and share ideas while learning about other local businesses. \u201cBusiness After Hours\u201d is a relationship-building experience in a relaxed\u00a0setting, designed to benefit participants through added contacts and resources.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2004, Log Cabin Books now has 17 titles. One of the few independent publishers remaining in Upstate New\u00a0York, it features local authors across several genres that include local history, children\u2019s books, personal finance, and fiction. While titles will not be sold during the \u201cBusiness After Hours,\u201d guests will have the opportunity to win door prizes from the publisher.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely grateful to Log Cabin Books for once again making this \u2018Business After Hours\u2019 possible,\u201d said Simon\u00a0Solomon, FOR executive director. \u201cThis is a truly unique opportunity to view the solar eclipse. It\u2019s been more than 100 years since a similar celestial event has occurred, so we are in for a real treat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
