Friends of Rogers will again host \u201cAnimals of Halloween\u201d the evening of Oct. 21 at Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne. Prior to this annual community festival, current Friends of Rogers members are invited to free hayrides from 4 to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

For a duration of about 10 minutes, hay riders will get a unique autumn glimpse of Rogers Center and agricultural views\u00a0surrounding the property. Hosted by \u201cThe Farm Store at Lathrop\u2019s Milk Ranch,\u201d rides are offered to all Friends of Rogers\u00a0members in appreciation for their support of Rogers Center.<\/p>\n

Friends of Rogers members ensure the continuation of programming at Rogers Environmental Education Center and\u00a0assist in maintaining high standards of environmental education that have been established over the years. Membership contributions help fund community celebrations, educational exhibits, guest presenters, instructional materials, Visitor\u00a0Center operations, and much more.<\/p>\n

Membership includes benefits for two adults at the same address. Benefits are\u00a0extended to all persons 18 or under who reside with adult members; valid for 12 months from date of enrollment; and\u00a0tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.<\/p>\n

Friends of Rogers will also hold its annual business meeting Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. in the Visitor Center classroom. All current and prospective members of the organization are invited to attend.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupport from our members has allowed Friends of Rogers to have another milestone year,\u201d said Simon Solomon, executive director. \u201cIn addition to benefits such as free hay rides, Friends of Rogers members have the satisfaction of knowing the vital role they play in \u2018Saving Our Neck of the Woods\u2019 at Rogers Center.\u201d<\/p>\n

While this program is offered free of charge to current Friends of Rogers members, pre-registration is required by noon Friday, Oct. 20. To pre-register or to become a Friends of Rogers member, call (607) 674-4733 or email development@FriendsofRogers.org.<\/p>\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that\u00a0offers educational programs for all ages.
