\"\"Pomeroy Foundation Announces Grant Opportunity for Historic Markers and\u00a0<\/strong>Markers Commemorating New York\u2019s Role in World War I<\/strong><\/p>\n

The William G. Pomeroy Foundation launched its Historic Roadside Marker Grant Program in 2006 and as of October 2017 has funded over 450 markers in 51 counties across the State.\u00a0\u00a0 The program commemorates historic people, places or things within the time frame of 1740-1917.<\/p>\n

In addition to the traditional historic marker grant program, the Foundation is also offering grants for Historic Markers to help commemorate the Centennial of the United States\u2019 entry into World War I.\u00a0 Please visit the Foundation\u2019s website at\u00a0www.wgpfoundation.org<\/a>\u00a0for specific themes related to New York\u2019s Role in World War I.<\/p>\n

Grants are accepted quarterly and are broken down into regions by county.\u00a0 Starting\u00a0November 6, 2017<\/span>\u00a0the Foundation will be accepting applications from the following counties:\u00a0 Cayuga, Cortland, Fulton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego and Schoharie.\u00a0 The grant for a Historic Roadside Marker covers the entire cost of the marker, pole and shipping.\u00a0 Recipients are responsible for installation.\u00a0\u00a0 Grants are available to 501(c)(3) organizations and municipalities within New York state.<\/p>\n
