Gamel, 37, of Verona, with felony DWI following a traffic stop in the town of Verona Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>At approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 24, Trooper Terry Horton stopped a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling east on East Main Street, Verona after he observed it swerving across the center line of the roadway into the oncoming lane of travel.<\/p>\n<p>Trooper Horton interviewed the driver, Gamel, and observed that she had an odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath.\u00a0 Sobriety tests indicated she was intoxicated and she was taken into custody for DWI.<\/p>\n<p>Further investigation revealed Gamel was operating with 2 children, ages 7 and 3, in the vehicle at the time she was stopped. The children were turned over to family at the scene. Gamel was\u00a0processed at the Oneida state police barracks, where a breath test determined her blood alcohol content to be .11 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Gamel was charged with DWI, felony Aggravated DWI under Leandra&#8217;s Law, failure to keep right and 2 counts of Endangering the welfare of a child.\u00a0\u00a0Gamel was transported to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oneida based state police charged\u00a0Jacqueline C.
