We will also be\u00a0closed Thursday November 23- Sunday November 26 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Giving Tree Fundraiser: Shop for the library this holiday season from Wednesday November 1-Tuesday January 16! We have several items the library needs! It\u2019s EASY! Grab a Christmas tag off our\u00a0giving tree of something you would like to donate to the library. Buy it, donate it, whatever it says and bring the tag and the item in as soon as you can! We would like all donations turned in by January 31, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Wine and Paint Night: Join us Friday November 3 at 6:30pm! Open to adults and kids 13 and older! If you don\u2019t drink wine we will have grape juice and of course, goodies for everyone too! \u00a0Cost is $30 per person (payable the night of the program). \u00a0Reservations are required!\u00a0\u00a0We can have no more than 28 so space is limited! WE WILL NOT TAKE SIGN UPS OVER THE PHONE, EMAIL OR SOCIAL MEDIA. YOU MUST STOP IN TO THE LIBRARY! (We are also taking monetary donations for the wine and <!--more-->goodies for the evening so if you would like to donate, please contact the Library Manager.)<\/p>\n<p>Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in on Tuesday November 7 at 10:00am for our preschool story hour! We are having fun with the topic, \u201cPets!\u201d Stories, finger plays, a craft and more!<\/p>\n<p>Cooking Matters at the Store Pop Up Tour: Want to save money at the store? \u00a0Want to buy healthy foods for your family? \u00a0Come learn how with a tour of a virtual grocery store! \u00a0All participants receive a $5 gift card to Wal-Mart, a reusable grocery bag and more! \u00a0Open to 18 and up! \u00a0Please sign up if you\u00a0think you might be able to attend now at the circulation desk. \u00a0(We want to make sure we have enough\u00a0free gifts for each participant!) This event will be on Wednesday November 8 at 6:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Madison County Veteran, Robert Purple Historic Talk: Join Madison County Historian, Matthew Urtz as he interviews Robert Purple on Friday November 10 at 6:30pm. Purple served in the Air National Guard over a span of five decades.\u00a0 Early in his career he served under \u201cNagasaki Charlie\u201d Sweeney, the pilot who flew the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki.\u00a0 Later in his career, he was called to active duty to serve during a prison riot in Auburn, assist in shipping aid to 3-mile Island uring a meltdown in 1979 and during the 1980 Olympics. He also served in the Gulf War. Bob will talk<br \/>\nabout these and other experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Play Mahjong!: Like to play Mahjong? Want to learn how to play without using the computer? Willing to teach young and old! Join the fun at the library! The group meets Monday November 13 and 27 from 1:00pm-3:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in on Tuesday November 14 at 10:00am for our preschool story hour! Bring the little ones in to hear stories about \u201cTime for Bed!\u201d Make a craft, finger plays and more!<\/p>\n<p>Book Talk-The Christmas Train: Looking for a good book to read? \u00a0How about joining our book talk as we will be reading,\u00a0The Christmas Train\u00a0by David Baldacci on Wednesday November 15 at 6:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Copies can be picked up now! \u00a0Discussion open to teens and adults! \u00a0So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!<\/p>\n<p>Library Board Meeting: The Library Board of Trustees meet on Thursday November 16 at 6:30pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Family Movie Night: We provide the popcorn; you bring your own beverage!
