Although winter is just starting to arrive, Adventure Camp season will soon be underway with Friends of Rogers! Children age 7-10 years old have the opportunity to enjoy action-packed days of outdoor fun from Dec. 26-29 during \u201cWonders of Winter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCamp is a wonderful opportunity for kids to get outside and get fresh air, while at the same time learning new skills and making friends along the way,\u201d said Environmental Educator Sarah Freedman. \u201cWe\u2019re crossing our fingers for some more snow, but either way, it\u2019s going to be a great time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During the camp, participants will have the opportunity to break free from the indoors and enjoy the fresh air as they take part in a number of fun-filled activities. Hiking, tracking and shelter building are just a few things that will be on the agenda, in addition to crafts, games and snacks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adventure Camp hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Pre-registration must be made by Dec. 19; the rate is $30 per day for members and $35 per day for not-yet-members. Also available are activities before (8-9 a.m.) and after (4-5:30 p.m.) for an additional $7.50 per session, per child.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe enjoyment and knowledge a child will absorb and bring back home with them after having spent a day or week with Friends of Rogers during camp \u2013 be it during winter, spring, summer or fall \u2013 is like no other,\u201d said Executive Director Simon Solomon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rogers Center in Sherburne is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
