Photo courtesy Friends of Rogers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018Nature\u2019s Nursery\u2019 will host an inaugural \u201cOpen Play Day\u201d Jan. 27, when young children and grown-ups\u00a0can explore Roger Environmental Education Center\u2019s early childhood learning space.<\/p>\n<p>A unique pre-school program designed to cultivate outdoor exploration, \u2018Nature\u2019s Nursery\u2019 has been in\u00a0residence with Friends of Rogers for nearly three years. Throughout each academic year, classes are in session\u00a0from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on select Friday mornings. Coordinator Jenni Larchar leads young explorers in a variety of fun and engaging educational activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goals is to nurture a love of nature and encourage curiosity,\u201d Larchar said. \u201cThis \u2018Nature\u2019s Nursery\u2019<br \/>\nweekend experience gives families an opportunity to enjoy our fenced playscape, including a tot-sized sledding\u00a0hill!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to offer this extended \u2018Nature\u2019s Nursery\u2019 program,\u201d said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. \u201cActivities like this allow us to fulfill of our mission in a dynamic way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOpen Play Day\u201d will take place from 11 am to 1 pm in the Visitor Center at Rogers Environmental Education Center, just off state Route 80 in Sherburne. As with all \u2018Nature\u2019s Nursery\u2019 activities, participants are encouraged to dress for the possibility of outdoor play. Early pre-registration is highly encouraged; admission is $6 for\u00a0families who are Friends of Rogers members and $8 for those families who are not-yet members.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages.
