Schweitzer\u00a0was applying grease lubricant to the bottom points under the raised bed of a personally owned dump truck, which was propped up by a wooden post.<\/p>\n<p>For an unknown reason, the post broke causing the bed to drop onto Schweitzer; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jefferson County man dies when sugar shack collapses due to high winds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 1:04 p.m., State Police in Watertown responded to an outbuilding located at 41045 Cross Road in Theresa, Jefferson County.<\/p>\n<p>Investigation revealed\u00a0Jonas L. Swartzentruber, 36, was engaged in maple syrup production in a sugar shack outbuilding with two other family members when high winds collapsed the building, pinning him against the ground with debris on top.<\/p>\n<p>A 15-year-old male was able to escape before the collapse and alerted neighbors who used jacks to lift the building debris off Swartzentruber and extricate him.
