The victim appeared to have significant injuries throughout her body and was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators interviewed her son, William, who admitted to assaulting his mother in their apartment. William P. Tonon, 46, of Liverpool, was charged with second-degree assault (a class D felony) and criminal obstruction of breathing (a class A misdemeanor). He was arraigned in Syracuse City Court and held on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond, and a full stay-away order of protection was issued.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was listed in stable condition after doctors determined that she suffered nine broken ribs, a punctured lung and other internal injuries from the assault.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Liverpool man arrested on felony assault charges On May 2, 2018, state police responded to the Grenadier Village apartment complex for an elderly woman in a vehicle with injuries.
