The Tax March\u2019s\u00a0Tax Chicken<\/a>\u00a0comes to Tenney\u2019s district as part of Central New York tour emphasizing devastating impacts of the TrumpTax<\/em><\/p>\n

Speak Out Central New York\u2019s Tax Chicken and Claudia Tenney* will stop at the Broome County Courthouse in Binghamton today, reminding voters that Tenney is too chicken to admit that she voted for the TrumpTax to reward her rich campaign donors with tax breaks, even though it will punish working families across her district.<\/p>\n

*Claudia Tenney will attend in the form of a cardboard likeness.<\/p>\n

WHAT:\u00a0The\u00a0Tax Chicken<\/a>\u00a0and Cardboard Claudia will make an appearance to remind voters that Claudia Tenney voted to pass the TrumpTax, even though it will raise New Yorkers\u2019 tax burdens and endanger their access to health care.<\/p>\n

WHEN: Today,\u00a0Thursday, May 17, 2018, from noon to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

WHERE:\u00a0Broome County Courthouse (Court St. side),\u00a065 Hawley St., Binghamton<\/a><\/p>\n

WHO:\u00a0Speak Out Central New York<\/p>\n

WHY:\u00a0Tenney voted for the TrumpTax even though it will raise taxes for New Yorkers by $2.4 billion in 2019 alone, and since the TrumpTax passed in December, corporations have spent\u00a060 times as much<\/a>\u00a0buying back stock to reward shareholders and executives as they have on worker raises or bonuses. Overall, corporations are getting 11 times as much in tax breaks as they\u2019re giving back out in the form of bonuses and raises.<\/p>\n

The TrumpTax also repealed the Affordable Care Act\u2019s individual mandate, which\u00a0even former members of the Trump administration admit<\/a> is going to dramatically increase insurance costs nationwide (and continue the\u00a0ongoing rise in Americans living uninsured<\/a>\u00a0since Republicans \u2013 including Tenney \u2013 began sabotaging the ACA last year).<\/p>\n

Tenney has taken tens of thousands of dollars from wealthy campaign donors like PricewaterhouseCoopers ($10,000), Goldman Sachs ($7,500) and JPMorgan Chase ($6,000), who stand to save billions under the TrumpTax. The Tax Chicken will continue touring Tenney\u2019s district for several weeks, reminding Central New Yorkers that she\u2019s too chicken to admit who she was really working for when she voted to give tax breaks to the richest fraction of the country, at the expense of her own constituents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
