Join Friends of Rogers and Kimberly LaCoe, Regional\u00a0Coordinator of Recycling Outreach and Education with the New York State Department of Environmental\u00a0Conservation, for a new interactive workshop series. Each month, participants will explore a specific topic,\u00a0including a brief history, applicable laws and policy, and assistance opportunities to address the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning July 19, \u201cIt\u2019s Easy Being Green\u201d will be held at 6:30 pm the third Thursday of every month.\u00a0Workshops take place at Rogers Environmental Education Center, just off state Route 80 in Sherburne.\u00a0The first session of the series will address \u2018Materials Management.\u2019 From resource identification and\u00a0depletion to conservation techniques through use reduction and reuse to the <!--more-->development of repair\u00a0cafes, recycling, and organics diversion, many aspects of materials management will be explored.<\/p>\n<p>On August 16, have a \u2018Conservation Conversation.\u2019 Take a trip down memory lane to reflect upon the\u00a0role past actions\/inactions have on the world today. Share in a conversation about conservation;\u00a0changing habits, managing household waste, how current activity is affecting modern efforts, and\u00a0more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to be launching \u2018It\u2019s Easy Being Green\u2019 this summer,\u201d said Simon Solomon, Friends of\u00a0Rogers executive director. \u201cOffering thought-provoking discussions like this is another unique way we<br \/>\nseek to fulfill our mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit\u00a0organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages.
