\"\"Canastota Public Library announces July programs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every summer, the Canastota Public Library\u00a0holds special summer events and programming for kids of all ages. In addition\u00a0to Summer Reading challenges, this summer, the library is planning special guests, craft days and weekly Storytime sessions.<\/p>\n

Storytimes are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday of each week. On\u00a0Wednesdays, babies and their caregivers are welcome to attend Baby & Me\u00a0Lapsit at 10 a.m. In these sessions, your newborn to 24 month old and the baby\u2019s\u00a0caregiver will be introduced to the library through stories, songs and rhymes.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0Thursdays at 10 a.m., preschoolers will hear stories, make crafts and sing songs.\u00a0These programs will run through August 1 and 2.<\/p>\n

Two craft days are planned at the library. On Monday, July 9 at 2 p.m., kids\u00a0can come and create Pet Rocks, which tie in with the Summer Reading Program\u00a0theme of \u201cLibraries Rock.\u201d The second craft day will be held July 16 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

At this session, we\u2019ll be making Musical Instruments. Every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a Do-It-Yourself craft cart will be available in the Children\u2019s Area for\u00a0students to create a piece of art.<\/p>\n

Special events this month include a magic show, a circus, snakes and\u00a0dinosaurs! Moreland the Magician\u2018s \u2018Symphony of Magic\u2019 will be held Thursday, July 12, at 7 p.m. Join David Moreland the Magician for this high-energy, 45-minute show packed with music, magic, comedy, puppetry, and\u00a0several routines featuring members of the audience.<\/p>\n

On Monday, July 16 at\u00a07 p.m., Dan the Snake Man will offer the audience a unique opportunity to experience many species of exotic reptiles. The audience will be invited to\u00a0interact with the animals on an up-close and personal level by viewing, touching\u00a0and asking lots of questions. The Silly Bubble Circus performs at the library Wednesday, July 25, at 7 p.m. Watch this performance as an entire circus comes alive at the library with jugglers, clowns and more.<\/p>\n

Finally, July 30, at 7 p.m.,\u00a0visit the library for \u201cDinosaur Dig\u201d with Field Paleontologists Mike and Roberta\u00a0Straka. Youth and their families are invited to take part in a scientific exploration\u00a0highlighting the world of dinosaurs, fossils and rocks\/minerals. Their fun-filled\u00a0show will cover the formation of fossils, herbivores vs. carnivores, basics of\u00a0geology (rocks and minerals).<\/p>\n
